The Trickster
2023
Ink and coloured pencil on paper. 31 x 22″
Made while reflecting on the Jungian archetype of the trickster.
This inkblot drawing was created in response to the Jungian archetype of the Trickster: a figure who disrupts certainty, dissolves binaries, and exposes the instability of perception. The work mirrors the Trickster's ability to shift identities, evade definition, and unsettle the desire for fixed meaning.
I am interested in the moment when perception transforms ambiguity into image. The drawing becomes less a depiction of the Trickster than an enactment of its logic. A playful deception that encourages curiosity, projection, and multiple truths to coexist.
